After completing my Master's at Missouri State in 2018, I spent 8 months working in hospitality at a lodge in Bettles, Alaska. Once the summer light dimmed at the end of August, I worked as a northern lights guide six nights a week, helping guests capture aurora borealis photographs.

Bettles was prized because it is 35 miles north of the Arctic Circle and has very little light pollution.

I never saw a rainbow of aurora, and yet here it was in the heart of the country, at the family farm in the Ozarks some seven years later.

This piece is printed on 1/16-inch aluminum and is ready to display.
